Bunkado Printing Company conducted an Open House on 2 November to promote the opening of its recently completed second printing plant in Odawara, Japan. This new facility, scheduled to be fully operational in January 2007, houses two Mitsubishi DIAMOND 32MAX commercial web presses and one DIAMOND 16MAX web press. The new presses are installed in a sideby-side arrangement and can accommodate duplex and triplex printing operations in the production of multi-page tabloid and magazine signatures.

Bunkado Printing Company has long been recognized as a leader in high-resolution printing through the high-quality 700-line-per-inch commercial work produced on the company’s sheetfed and commercial web presses. The three new web presses recently installed will enable Bunkado to further raise its capacity in high-resolution printing.

The nearly 850 visitors attending the event also toured Bunkado Printing Company’s adjacent plant where four Mitsubishi commercial web offset presses are installed. The presses here include two DIAMOND 32 models, one DIAMOND 16, and one DIAMOND 16MAX. Visitors expressed a high degree of interest in the production capacity of the new facility and in the presentations provided on Bunkado’s efforts in high-resolution printing.
