Mitsubishi Offers New Training Courses in Japan

In addition to serving as print test sites in Japan, Mitsubishi's two showroom facilities - the Kanto Showroom in Saitama and the Graphic Arts Center at the Paper & Printing Machinery Division in Mihara - also offer a number of training courses for sheet-fed and commercial web offset press users. In May of this year, four new courses were added to the curriculum. Two of these courses are geared for web press users and cover press maintenance training and paper waste reduction training. The other two courses are offered in Color Management System (CMS) training and printing standardization training and are intended primarily for sheet-fed press users.

With an implementation rate of CTP systems in Japan now exceeding 50%, more and more printing companies around the country are opting for full digitalization. Sheet-fed printers in particular have shown a keen interest in CMS and printing standardization. Against this backdrop, Mitsubishi introduced its CMS and printing standardization training courses, and both courses have been highly rated by a number of people who have already undergone the training. The courses also provide tactics for better pressroom management, including productivity improvements, presented from the viewpoint of the press manufacturer. In addition to the training courses, consulting services are offered in the area of CMS-related prepress operations with support from Fuji Film Graphic Systems.

One of Mitsubishi's prime considerations in developing its training programs was the need to maintain environmentally compatible printing plants. This led to the introduction of process-less printing plates and dampening solution filtration systems at the Kanto Showroom, and this facility has since been awarded the status of "Gold-Plus" by Japan's Environment Pollution Prevention Printing Association (E3PA).

Mitsubishi will continue to focus on the various needs of printers and to offer its experience and know-how as a press manufacturer as it goes about enriching the curriculum of the training courses offered.
