MHI strong presence at ifra 2005

Ifra-sponsored study tour group on Mitsubishi stand
The four-day Ifra Expo got underway on 17 October at the Leipziger Messe in Leipzig, Germany and for the 20th consecutive year, Mitsubishi exhibited at the show in grand fashion.
Recognized as the "annual event of the newspaper industry," Ifra provides an ideal platform for exhibitors to meet with old and new customers and to network with a wide range of suppliers. More than 300 exhibitors took part in this year’s 35th edition of the Ifra Expo, and visitor turnout was expected to exceed the projected attendance figure of 8,500.

Visitor turnout was extremely good over the first three days of the show, due in part to the large number of wellattended Ifra Study Group Tours joined by newspapers publishers around the world and from other independent tour groups as well. On the first day of the show, the Mitsubishi stand hosted a 31-member tour group from Japan sponsored by Ifra, and on the third day, 25 visitors from the Technical Committee of the Korean Newspaper Association.

Mitsubishi once again attracted visitors at Ifra with an arresting stand design that boldly combined large-sized graphics and a sleek use of black and Mitsubishi red. This perfectly reflected the company’s tradition of excellence and its worldwide reputation for advancements in knowledge and technology and in this, the 400th year of newspaper printing, knowledge and technology are the words on the lips of every potential customer and supplier to walk through the doors.

The role of Mitsubishi at Ifra continued after hours as the company entertained 22 of their customers and select suppliers, representing six countries worldwide, at a dinner party at the historical Coffe Baum in Leipzig – an ideal choice for Mitsubishi when considering the restaurant’s 250 years of tradition.

The fact that Mitsubishi Heavy Industries - or more specifically their dedicated on site Research and Development team - are constantly striving to make even greater technological leaps in the world of newspaper printing adds yet more importance to their participation in Ifra 2005.
Customers from the newspaper industry throughout Europe and many from around the world visit this event to experience the latest newspaper production technology and most productivity-enhancing equipment available on the market, and in this respect Mitsubishi does not disappoint customers’ expectations.

Further emphasizing this, Iliya Kovacevic, General Manager of Mitsubishi’s European Newspaper Operations stated, "Our customers seek improved productivity, high printing quality
and flexibility of operation; Mitsubishi satisfies these needs with their range of DIAMOND–series of presses, available for cold set printing of newspapers and heat set printing of semicommercial products."
Ifra 2006 is set to take place in Amsterdam from 9 to 12 October and returns to its biennial home at the RAI Exhibition Centre, where Mitsubishi intend to showcase more of these high quality newspaper printing solutions.
